Back Home

Hey everyone!

Well, I'm home now from an absolutely wonderful weekend!! As you know, we left Thursday evening to go to Gatlinburg, TN for The Gatlinburg Gathering. It was so much fun! We checked in the hotel that night and just un-wound for a little bit. Then the next morning, the hustle and bustle began. We set up my booth and then The Cookes came with the group stuff later that afternoon and we set up the group booth. We were excited that we got to be right beside the booth where a professional artist would be every night. That is, when a group would come and set up and sing one night, then tear down the same night and head on to their next booking. The group that was there Friday night was... The Perrys! The group that loaded in Saturday night was, my friends, The Collingsworth Family! It was really good to get to see them again and catch up on things. I love these people so much!! They are awesome! The next group that was beside of us was The Booth Brothers!! They are top-notch; and they are some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

Along with all the "big" groups that I've come to know personally and admire, I, along with the girls, got to be reunited with some up-and-coming groups that we hadn't seen in a long time. We had some wonderful conversations with The Wisecarvers (from Tennessee), a group called Total Praise Quartet (from Greenville, SC), and Third Generation (also from TN.) All of these groups are absolutely wonderful!

I've posted some pictures at the bottom of this entry. Enjoy! :)

Leaving!

Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything about what's been going on in my life. I can sum it all up with one word... BUSY! Going somewhere all the time whether it's school (only 11 more days!!!!! :D Then I will be thru with high school!!!!!!!! YAY!!!), going to the school where I work (Heritage Christian School), or traveling and singing. It's always something all the time! But it's wonderful and I love every second of it. :)

This weekend is going to be CRAZY! We're leaving in just a few minutes to go to Gatlinburg, TN, to go to The Gatlinburg Gathering. It's a 3 night concert with groups like The Hoppers, The Talley Trio, Gold City, The Booth Brothers, just to name a few! Blood Bought is going to sing on the showcase stage on Sunday night. Please pray for God's anointing to be on us. If we win, we will be privileged to sing one song on the MAIN stage! The groups that will be on mainstage the night are The Booth Brothers, Karen Peck & New River (I love her so much! She is SO sweet!!), Triumphant Quartet, my good friends Third Generation, and Kirk Talley. I am so excited I can hardly wait!! I'll post about our time up there hopefully next week. ;)

Love y'all much!!

Church Feud

There was a feud between the Pastor and the Choir Director of the Hicksville Christian Church. It seems the first hint of trouble came when the Pastor preached on 'Dedicating Yourselves to Service' and the Choir Director chose to sing:
'I Shall Not Be Moved'.

Trying to believe it was a coincidence, the Pastor put the incident behind him. The next Sunday he preached on 'Giving.' Afterwards, the choir squirmed as the director led them in the hymn:
'Jesus Paid It All'.

By this time, the Pastor was losing his composure. Sunday morning attendance swelled as the tension between the two built. A large crowd showed up the next week to hear his sermon on 'The Sin of Gossiping.' Would you believe the Choir Director selected the song:
'I Love To Tell The Story'?

There was no turning back. The following Sunday the Pastor told the congregation that unless something changed, he was considering resignation. The entire church gasped when the Choir Director led them in:
'Why Not Tonight'?

Truthfully, no one was surprised when the Pastor resigned a week later, explaining that Jesus had led him there and that Jesus was leading him away.

The Choir Director could not resist:
'What A Friend We Have In Jesus.'

Mission #2... What lies under the bed?

As you can see in the title, Mission #2 is complete! I am a changed person!! My mom and I jerked the mattresses off my bed, and I went to town cleaning under there! It was quite interesting really. I have a fan in my room that is remote controlled; a couple of YEARS ago the remote disappeared. I searched and searched for that thing. I even looked under the bed (hoping there were no monsters... lol) but no luck. Then when I moved my dresser (Mission #1), a HUGE dust bunnie came out. I thought, "Man. That is one big bunnie!" But then I looked closer (gross) and saw that this d.b. had buttons. It was my remote for my fan!! I was so excited. I washed it off with warm soapy water and it was as good as new!

I have TMJ. It's a syndrome in the jaw that sometimes can cause it to lock. On certain days, it can also be more painful that other days. It's common cause is the grinding of teeth, especially while asleep. I bought a mouth guard many, many months ago that you wear at night to prevent your teeth from grinding together. I wore it the night I bought it. When I woke up, it wasn't in my mouth; it wasn't on my bed; it wasn't anywhere!! I honestly thought I had swallowed the thing! But, when I moved the mattresses and videos, magazines, CDs, and everything else that was under the bed, there it was! Just laying on the floor.

I was hoping I would find something great, wonderful, and exciting under there... Like money or something! lol. But it was all dust, a remote, and a mouth piece. So thus completes Mission #2.

Mission #1... Moving the furniture...

Today I have been cleaning my room. It's 6:30 right now and I have been cleaning since 1:00!!! I moved my dresser, nightstand, and chest, and got all the dust bunnies out. I can honestly say that I have not cleaned my room like this since I first moved into it.. almost 4 years ago!!!! EWW!!!!! But with the help of a trusty Rainbow vacuum cleaner, a Swiffer mop, and nerves of steel, I faced the dust bunnies head-on!! I also Pledged everything in my room - except for my bed, which I'll hopefully get to tomorrow - and now it's all sparkly! :D I also tackled my window and blinds.

So thus completes Mission 1... Tomorrow will be Mission 2... What lies under the bed?

God thought of U!

The U in JesUs
Before U were thought of or time had begun, God stuck U in the name of His Son.
And each time U pray, you'll see it's true You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; that's why He came.
And His great love for U is the reason He died. It even takes U to spell crUcified.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand, He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.
When JesUs left earth at His Upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention. "Go into the world and tell them it's true, That I love them all - Just like I love U."
So many great people are spelled with a U, Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?
It all depends now on what U will do, He'd like them to know, But it all starts with U.
