The weekend 10/28/07

WOW!! What a weekend this has been!!!!

The church youth group went to Brian's house (he's a new member that owns a 16 acre "ranch") We had SO much fun!! We roasted hot dogs, ate smores, and had a great time of fellowship! I ate 2 ballpark franks and 4 SMORES!!! I was about to explode! lol. Brian also owns 2 llamas! Thank the good Lord, neither of them spit on me! We had a great time!

Sunday morning we headed to Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. My goodness!!! What an AWESOME service we had! The presence of the Lord was already meeting with us during the Sunday School hour. Words really cannot describe the service. My good buddy Chris Whisnant [formerly the piansist for East Hudson Baptist Church (Brittney's church)] came and played the drums with us on a couple of our songs. Tony (Britt's dad) played the bass while I played my solo. He told me after church that he had a hard time keeping up with me 'cause of the... what he called "college chords" I would put in the song! lol... Sorry 'bout that, Tony!!

That evening, we trucked up the mountain in our "bus"
(see pic to left... lol.) It's the closest thing we've got to a bus anyway!! Anyway, we made our way to Cornerstone Baptist Church. I like to call this "the Powerhouse Church" since every time we go up there, the Lord works miracles, gives someone encouragement or, what it's all about, saves a soul. That's the purpose of my traveling and spreading the good news. I'll echo Courtney and say, "If one soul gets saved, then it's worth it all!'' And that is so true.

Well, now things are starting to slow down a little bit. I'm glad to be back at my home church now! Especially since we're doing a Christmas cantata this year! I think that will be great!!

Love,
Jacob

From Fayetteville to Taylorsville

This past Friday (the 19) Daddy and I traveled the straight and narrow road that led to Lumberton, NC. The concert was at the Southeast Agricultural Center and featured, Adoration Qt., Mercy's Reign, Unity Qt., and The Freemans!!! This was an incredible not concert... But SERVICE!! The Holy Spirit began to move, lives were touched,
it was incredible! I played with Adoration Qt. that night. They're a really great all male quartet based out of Goldsboro, NC. We have a large concert coming up November 30, with Gold City, Karen Peck & New River, The Kingsmen & others!! I believe that's going to be an INCREDIBLE night as well! Bro. Terry (from Adoration) so graciously asked me to play with them then, as well as a few concert/services before that, so everyone could "get the feel of things." By golley, I think we've got it!! lol. The concert on Nov. 30 is in Supply, NC (near Wilmington) at the Brunswick Community College. Please be in prayer! If you would like to come to the concert, you may email me or visit my website for directions... www.jacobcrispministries.com
The next day, Saturday the 20, Blood Bought Trio sang at the Apple Festival in downtown Taylorsville! WOW!!! What an awesome Spirit there was there! Folks were raising there hands, standing in praise, and worshipping our Savior. Our friends, The Whisnants, actually sang before us! They are such sweet people, and their harmony is remarkable. BBT sang and once again, the Holy Spirit moved as we sang. It truly was awesome!
We've got yet another busy weekend soming up! Poarch's Chapel Missionary Methodist Church this Sunday morning, and Cornerstone Baptist Church Sunday evening!! We can't wait!!
I love you all. Thank you for all your love and support for my ministry... It really does mean a lot!!
Love,
Jacob

The First Entry

Hey everyone!
Well... Here it is! My very first blog entry! I've finally "caught up with the times." I hope you'll enjoy reading about my weekend experiences with the group (Blood Bought.) Boy, sometimes we get ourselves into some pretty funny situations. I'll not tell all the stories just yet, but this one is on my mind. The other week, Courtney and I went and sang at ... get this... Cricket Baptist Church. Wow! What a sweet, sweet spirit there was there! Before the service began, Court and I were talking about how close our friendship was. She said, "Jake, you're like my brother!" I said, "I know girl! You're just like a sister to me." "It's almost like we know what each other is thinking," she said, "Kinda like we have espN or something!!" LOL!!! Do any of you get that? If not, you will in a minute... maybe. :) You see, ESP means:
extrasensory perception: perception or communication outside of normal sensory capability, as in telepathy (communication between minds by some means other than sensory perception.) Now, you sports fans out there know what ESPN is... It's a Sports News channel on TV! Bless her heart, she got it all mixed up! Needless to say, we have a lot of fun!
Well, I think I'm going to post another blog now and tell you about my weekend ;)

Have a great day!!
Jacob
